Wait! What? Did you say Silver?
Why, Yes!! Metal Clay Silver is back at Bead Soup for another year!!! Happy 2025!
If you have taken metal clay before, these classes will be a lot of fun and I am sure you will pick up a couple new tricks. If you are a novice at metal clay, you are fine to take these classes and build your techniques. If you have never touched Metal clay but are a quick learner - please start with an intro class offered the evening before any technique class.
A Hollow Form Swirl into the New Year !
Saturday Jan 25 11am - 2pm ($110)
We will be creating little puff pillows from molds. We will discuss depth and the right mold to look for using as a hollow form.
Next there will be approx 1/2hr break after pillows are formed so that they may dry in the dehydrator for use in the following step.
Techniques you will learn: Drying silver clay with props. Joining dry silver clay to dry clay. Creating a hollow form. Finishing and sanding prep for Firing (this will happen off site and returned to Bead Soup for pick up at a date to be set in class)
There will be discussion re: firing a hollow form, tips and tricks to consider and why.
Now that you have created a dimensional piece of fine silver - the possibilities are endless as to what you can build!
Molds and miscellaneous tools are available for your use in class.
If you have metal clay tools already, you are welcome to bring them.
